The Yoga of Writing:
Cultivating Strength, Clarity and Compassion

We have all heard of yoga poses (or asanas as they are formally called). The purpose of yoga postures is to help awaken certain energies that help us realize our true nature and bring balance to our energy systems. Journaling is another form like a yoga posture, designed to help bring balance to our bodies, minds and hearts. Writing just exercises a different part of our minds. Specific journaling exercises can help us awaken and release stuck areas of tension and bring clarity, consciousness and heart-opening to all layers of our being.

In this class we will combine simple yoga postures and movements that anyone can do in combination with journaling exercises to help us focus on the qualities of strength, clarity and compassion. More time will be spent journaling than doing the physical movements proportionately. Dress comfortably and bring blank paper, a journal, your favorite pen and/or drawing supplies (drawing supplies not required). If you have a yoga block and mat, that can be helpful but is not necessary.
